“The contract for the farm complex at Lõõla is a mark of recognition for the skills and competence that Nordecon Betoon has in constructing agricultural buildings – a sector we’ve been working in for many years,” explained the company’s director Mait Rõõmusaar. “It’s the biggest contract we’ve entered into in this particular field in Estonia. And it’s worth mentioning that the design of the barns was entrusted to us as well.” Rõõmusaar says that experience to date shows, among other things, that ordering both design and construction services from the same company saves time and money and makes managing the project much simpler.

“It’s great to be working with the Trigon Dairy Farming group again,” Rõõmusaar added. “They’re one of the country’s biggest milk producers, and Väätsa Agro is one of their arms. When you’re working with experienced partners like them, things normally go very smoothly and according to contract – and on a major project like this a more aware and flexible approach to organisation will benefit everyone involved.”

In the course of construction of the dairy farm complex, which is situated in Lõõla in Väätsa municipality in Järva County, a new milking shed will be built as well as new barns for the milking cows (accommodating 2200 in the first stage), silos, lagoons, bulk feed stores, roadways and squares. The existing barn buildings will also be reconstructed to accommodate young animals. Stage one construction will begin in September 2013 with a due completion date of August 2014.

Construction of the dairy farm complex in Lõõla is being financed by SEB Pank, which has financed a number of large barn projects in recent years.

Nordecon Betoon is an Estonian company that focuses on the design and construction of concrete structures with general contracting. It forms part of the Nordecon Group and employs around 160 people.
